Good Morning, Ken:-
The CHALLENGE continues!!! Visit your Senator personally and ask
for his SUPPORT for Bill S-12 -- we prefer answers in writing, but
Gordon Watts might accept a memo from you.
He is the one who updates the scoreboards -- nothing new re Senators!

I am happy you now realize we elect or expect our appointed Parlimentarians
to vote as consitituents in a riding would like him/her to vote. That is why
we have elections, and the one with the most votes goes to Ottawa.
Hope you come back with a positive YES!!!

------------------------ Original Message-----------

You're absolutely correct.... we cannot vote on House and Senate matters. I
happen to live a few streets over from my senator and former MP, Raymond
Lavigne.
----------
Ken --
You must remember one very STRONG argument --
You and I cannot vote in Senate or House of Commons,
ONLY the elected or appointed politician.

Right now, Ontario has more supportive representatives than
does Quebec -- percentage - not numbers
Bottom line -- ONLY politicians are allowed to vote!!

Well then,| |
On a sheer numbers basis, I'll predict that Ontario will win. The
population base in Ontario is superior to that in Quebec. ... and that's
without factoring in other variables.
Regards,, Ken
-----------------
To Ken and all researchers:-
It does not matter how many seats are held by Ontario and how
many by Quebec -- that is not the question.
The SUPPORT is by signatures on petitions -- 652 from Quebec,
1892 from Ontario -- this number for the Senate, as I collect these.
Also SUPPORT is given by elected and appointed politicians.

HOUSE OF COMMONS --QUEBEC
Quebec has 13 MPs supportive out of 73 (two vacancies)
ELEVEN (11) are debating whether YES/NO
FORTY-NINE (49) have yet to answer any writer - including myself

HOUSE OF COMMONS -- ONTARIO
FIFTY (50) MPs are supportive in Ontario -- out of 103
FOUR (4) are saying NO
THIRTY-THREE (33) are debating YES/NO
SIXTEEN (16) MPs have yet to reply to anyone.
==============
SENATORS -- QUEBEC
FIVE (5) Senators out of 23 are supportive
TWO (2) are debating YES/NO ou OUI/ NON
SIXTEEN (16) Senators have yet to reply to anyone.

SENATORS - ONTARIO
NINE (9) Senators out of 22 are supportive -- one vacancy
ONE (1) Senator has decided to say NO
THREE (3) are debating whether to say YES or NO
NINE (9) have yet to reply to anyone -- including myself.
==========
On a PERCENTAGE basis, ONTARIO has MORE support for
census release than Quebec.|
Want to change this -- sign PETITIONS, write LETTERS,
IF you wish the census records released.

-----------------------
Hmmmm.....
In sheer numbers Ontario will win hands down. There are, what, 99 seats
in Ontario? QC and ON have the same number of Senate seats. QC has
75 seats in the House. [Ontario has 103 MPs, Quebec 73 with 2 vacancies;
Ontario has 22 Senators with one vacancy and Quebec has 23 Senators]| |
So... what is the definition of "more support"?|
Ken Quinn
----------------------
To all:-|
This is a CHALLENGE -- which province will obtain
more support for census release!!!
