Many Americans can speak French.
I worked training census employees in many States under contract from
Canada.
I met many.

There is very little difference between Canadians and Americans.
We have our cultural peculiarities but these are mostly regional.
America practices the melting pot theory while Canada practices
multi-culturalism.
Canada has gun controls (handguns and automatic and rifles are basically
illegal and starting this year hunting rifles have to be registered).
Canadians don't have the Right to bear arms (except on a beach <grin>)
because our Constitution guarantees our protection from our own government.
