According to reliable sources..A John Flanagan husband of Bridget
Aylward.. {possibly my paternal gggrandfather?} adopted 2 Madden
children, Patrick age 17 & Maria age 11, off the Immigrant
ship.."Virginius" on Sept. 8, 1847. These children were registered as
being from from Lissonuffy, Co Roscommon, Ireland. Parents were James
and Mary (Kenny) Madden. Date of entry Aug. 18th, 1847. Both parents may
have perished en route or on Grosse Isle the Federal Quarantine Station
situated 30 miles downriver from Qc city? Haven't a clue as to what ever
happen to these 2 children & any info/input would be of great value,
along with any info on the Flanagans of that era...
Thanks in advance..I remain..don michaud, Rosemere, Québec.
