Hi Theresa,
I don't believe there was a written agreement for a protestant to sign
over his childrens religious rights. I had relatives marry other
religions and it was just a promise if this marriage was allowed then
the spouse would allow his husband or wife to bring up the children in
the catholic faith. If the couple did not want to follow the catholic
religion rules they could be married elsewhere. It was just a promise I
believe.
