My wife Maria Scott is descended from early settlers of Switzerland County and Jefferson County (Madison) Indiana. Two of the first in the area were French trappers Gabert and Currier/Carrier. They came with thier Native Canadian/Canadien wives. As there were not many people in the area descendants of one married descendants of the other. They would have been born approximately 1740-1770.
