All of this talk about the Zacharie Cloutier - Xaintes Dupont descendants has
sent me back to my own files, because their children Zacharie (fils),
Charles, Jean, and Louise-Marie are all my ancestors in different lines.
That couple have generated descendants who have formed multiple
consanguineous relationships at a level unmatched by anyone else - except
perhaps a few other famlies who arrived in Nouvelle-France before 1650. But
all of them, like the children of Abraham (I mean Martin L'Ecossais, of
course!) intermarried with the Cloutiers in any event!

To be specific:

Zacharie Cloutier & Xaintes Dupont
I. Zacharie (II) & Madeleine Aymard
Genevieve & Joseph Guyon-Dion
Ignace Guyon-Dion and Marie-Louise Guillet
Marie-Josephe & Francois-Michel Messier St-Francois
Joseph Messier & Elizabeth Levasseur
Dominique & Marie-Marguerite Gosselin
Francois & Sophie Guyon-Dion
II. Charles Cloutier & Louise Morin
Elisabeth & Nicholas Gamache
Marie-Anne Gamache & Louis Guyon-Dion
Julien & Francoise Desautels
Sophie & Francois Messier St-Francois
III. Louise-Marie Cloutier & Jean Migneault-Chatillon
M-Charlotte Migneault & Jean-Baptiste Dion
Augustin Dion-Sansoucy-Guyon & M-Angelique Moreau
Germain & Marie-Louise Bernier
M-Louise & Clement Gosselin
M-Marguerite Gosselin & Dominique Messier-St Francois

Let me complete that lineage just once
Dominique Messier-St Francois & Marguerite Gosselin
Francois & Sophie Guyon-Dion
Philomene & Pierre Gaucher
Azarize Gaucher & Louis Monty
Blanche

Then back to the Cloutiers:

IV. Jean Cloutier & Marie Martin-L'Ecossais
Marguerite & Robert Caron
Anne-Cecile & Joseph Lefrancois
Charles Lefrancois & Veronique Quentin
Alexis & M-Marguerite Cote
M-Angelique & Pierre Brossard
Louis & M-Phebe Pinsonnault
Marie & Cheri Payan
Ulric

Now, you might remember from Case Study I that Cheri Payan and Marie
Brossard, my great-grandparents are related in the fourth degree touching the
fifth. Since I am the grandson of Ulric and Blanche, would any of you care
to calculate how many different ways I am descended from Zacharie and
Xaintes? (I have not yet discovered a connection with Marie-Anne Cloutier
and Robert Drouin. But that doesn't mean that there isn't one hidden
somewhere!)

Connections hidden above: Fortin- Bellefontaine, (Madonna), Guyon-Dion
(Celine)
Consanguinity is wonderful, if you keep it in the family!
