Subject: [Q-R] Help with term E.P.
Date: Thu, 01 Jun 2000 09:03:34
Would any lister know what E.P. would mean on the 1861 Quebec Census.
It was used to identify my g,g, grandfather's church. Does it represent his
religious affiliation or an abbreviation of a church name? I'm inclined to
believe it signifies his religion, because in the same census his spouse's
church was identified as Roman Catholic. If it is his religion - does
anyone have a suggestion? Could P be Protestant, Presbyterian or
Pentacostal? What would E stand for?
Any help would be appreciated,
Frank
