In "The Highlander" Mar/Apr 2003 issue appeared the following:
"Dr. Alexander Murdoch of the Scottish History Department of the
University of Edinburg is collecting copies of these letters and
learning whatever is possible about the families who wrote them. If you
have letters you would like to provide, or have questions or input for
about the project, e-mail , or call (707) 823-4049
to discuss the best way to share your material."
Many of you know about the book by Robert J Fraser, "As others see us:
Scots of the Seaway Valley". There are many references to the letters
written to the GARDINER family from relatives in Scotland. The
Gardiners came to Dundee from Scotland.
Does anyone know where these letters are now?
They would make a wonderful addition the Dr Murdoch's study.
