"Does anyone on this list know of a book or website that lists the various
towns, hamlets, and parishes in Quebec? I know the LDS has a microfilm of a
book but that is not readily accessible online.

Dick,
The Quebec government Toponymie site at:
http://www.toponymie.gouv.qc.ca/default.asp
is very good for finding place names in Quebec. It is in French, but not
too difficult to use. Type in the name or part of it in the 'contient'
field and click on 'Rechercher'. It also locates the place on a map which
can be zoomed in on . I find it much more extensive than the Natural
Resources Canada geographical names query at:
http://GeoNames.NRCan.gc.ca/english/query.html
There is also the Endroits au Québec/Places in Quebec site at:
http://www.genealogie.com/quebec/places.html
Which lists towns, etc, and gives parish names for Catholic churches, and
also lists Protestant churches and sometimes cemeteries.
Finally, you probably know about Burt Lang's Place Names of South West
Quebec, for the Chateauguay valley area, available through links from the
Chateauguay or Huntingdon GenWeb sites at:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~qcchatea/index.html
http://www.rootsweb.com/~qchuntin/Default.htm
