Hello List,

I recently found some records compiled by James Henry Young in 1935 called
the "Black Series." In it, he lists men from different townships in York
Co., Pa., who, by law, signed up for the Revolution and who have the same
names as my ancestors. But I don't know if there were other's in York Co., at
the time, with the same names as my family? What are the odds that the
names listed are from a different unrelated family from mine? My family line
settled in Warrington township, York Co., Pa., in 1744. In 1745 my family
were founding members of Warrington Friends Meeting. I descend from Peter
Cook & Elinor Norman married 1695 in Cheshire, England and came to America in
1713.

"Cook" was the name that most German's named "Koch" changed to when they
arrived in early America. It was pronounced the same. There were many, many
German's in this area of Pennsylvania at the time.

Any insight appreciated,
Bob Cooke
