Hello, thank you for your reply re: Pickel - what is confusing is
that there are two marriages listed in the church records as published
by the Quebec Family History Society, Pointe Claire, P.Q. as follows:
6.Oct.1783 - Pickell, John to Dufrene, Genevieve.
17.Feb.1784 - Pickell, John to Smith, Ann
It could be assumed that one of them was a Loyalist, the other ???
perhaps the Hessian soldier Pickel/Bueckel.
Any information to clear this up would be appreciated.
