Yes, the law states 92 years although many would like it to be
fewer years -- but there are means to obtain special information
from Ottawa if needed.
The 1911 census was scheduled to be released in 2003, but
the fight to have it released continued until June 28, 2005.

You made me do some research on this. It is more than 90 years, actually le
law states 92 years! I put the link to the Canada website mentioning this
law and scroll down to article 2.8. So according to this, I guess we will
see the 1916 Census next year on line!
