My mother, Mary Ethel RYAN b. 1916 was baptized at St. Anne's and her parents Richard Patrick RYAN b. 1893 and May FITZGERALD b.1893 were married at St. Anne's in 1914. A number of years back I addressed a letter to St Anne's which was forwarded to St. Patrick's and was told they no had all the records as St. Anne's had burned.
My grandparents and mother had lived on St. Charles in "Griffintown". In the late 1990's my wife and I traveled to Montreal where we walked the area and located the house they had lived in. It was explained that the local "English" Catholic church was St. Gabriel's. The "French" Catholic Church was about 4 feet (truly) away. I don't recall its name. We attended mass at St. Gabriel's after which we spoke with the priest who introduced us to several of the older parishioners. We were hoping to find someone who had known my grand mother, but we had no such luck.
My grandfather had deserted her, taking my mother to the USA just prior to 1926. My grandmother lived the balance of her life in the area, Never remarrying.
My grandfather was known to have a brother William b.1891 and a sister Elsie b.1896. The 1911 census shows them living with their grandparents Patrick RYAN b. 1834 & Catherine b. 1831.

I saw a reference to St. Ann's in one of the email. Can someone clarify for me if St. Ann's (Griffintown church) records are at St. Pat's? I found St. Ann marriages on an LDS film but have wondered where to find the baptisms for St. Ann's for 1888 - 1900.
Hope someone can help with this.
