Perhaps this has already been mentioned but in case it is new to some
listers, a visit to the [Musee] McCord Museum site and the Notman Archives
is well worth it.
Key in a last name to see if any of your ancestors were photographed by
William Notman . It is not necessary, but one can be specific as to type:
portrait, male female, family, child etc. Many more show up without
perameters.
I will pass on the url and steps to anyone interested. The Notman images are
not limited to Quebec. If you own unidentified Notman pics, the Notman
Collection archivist & staff are very helpful tracing the numbers found on
all of Notman’s well documented images.
