Dear Kathleen:

You could also try getting the St. Albans Border Crossing films that start
in 1895-1954. Although it won't show him crossing into Canada but it might
catch him coming in to the U.S. at some point which will give you some info
as to where he is living and who he was going to go see in the U.S. You can
order these films from the LDS. They are an index of all people crossing
into the U.S. from Canada. This is how I found my husbands ancestors when
they crossed into the U.S. The ST. Albans Border Crossings cover all of the
Canadian-U.S. borders from east Coast to West Coast. . Here are three of
the film numbers that you might want to get from the LDS 1473076, 1570778,
1490517. These three films use the Soundex coding.
There are 1500 films documenting Crossings into the U. S. from Canada from
1895 to 1954. You can also access Border Crossing records into Canada from
the U.S. which are available through the National Archives of Canada. These
films are unindexed but can only be ordered through Inter-Library Loan.
They charge a very modest fee of this service. You cannot check them out of
the library that they are loaned to so be sure that the library you ask to
get them for you has a microfilm reader.

Hi Kathleen;

Have a look at this national archives site:

You won't find any records on-line, but you may find where to go next.

Cheers!
Malcolm
