Hi Bob,
sorry for being late but not too late, I hope.
Well, RINGEL is not a common surname but there are 1,600 persons on phone, all
the same! And they are spread all over Germany without any special regional
focus.
FINNER is not very common; there are 135 persons on phone here. The dispersion
shows that there are some in eastern Brandenburg, some in Niedersachsen and
Hamburg, some in Baden-Wuerttemberg and some in the Rhein-Ruhr area. You can
say: better focussed.
Thank you for sharing the nice story which happened in Fulda: what a small
world it is and full of RINGELs!
I'm very pleased you enjoyed my country when being stationed here. Today there
are only few American soldiers left here.
Unfortunately I couldn't help you as much as you perhaps might have thought. But
maybe another friend on the list can offer you some more help.
