Aimee,

My wife's grandfather, James Polston son of William and Debbie, lived in
Weldon, IL. where he worked as a farm hand before moving to Indianapolis, IN.
His brother, Asa also lived there for a short time. Other brothers and sister
include Dorcus "Darkey" David who moved to Iowa. Mike, and Sopiah "Suffie".
He also had A half brother, John, who did live in Chicago for some time but I
don't know if he worked for Inland Steel.

John was born Sept. 9, 1860 and died July 16, 1948. Let me know if any of
this fits into the time frame you are searching.
