A quick search through Fr. Heberts research books and census online I found the following. Hope it fits and helps as it does include the name of Jean Petry parents. I'm also a direct line from Quebedeaux's! Hello cousin.

STELLY, Carmelite (Jean & Theotiste QUEBEDEAU) m. 12 Feb. 1838 Jean PITERS (Laf. Ch.: v. 2, p. 283)

If Fr. Heberts research is correct then the parents for Jean are:

PITERS, Jean of St. Martinville (Adam & Marie Aglae PALARD) m. 12 Feb. 1838 Carmelite STELLY (Laf. Ch.: v. 2, p. 283)

According to Fr. Hebert's research, John and Carmelite had a few children.

1850 Census Jean Piters/Peters/Petry etc. was dead I think. Carmelite had remarried to Don Louis Gaspard if I follow the census correctly. Looks like Jean Petry could have died abt 1843-50 depending if Selina Petry age 7 is correct in Fr. Heberts research.

Don Louis Gaspard 36
CARMELITE Stelly 26
Elizabeth Gaspard 10
TREVILLE PETRY 12
SALINA (Marie Celanie) PETRY 5
Jean Louis Gaspard 4
Selimonne Gaspard 3
Selima Gaspard 10/12

Note: names are hard to read and not always correct spelling on census.

Carmelite is found to be living next to her brothers in the 1850 census, Zenon and Jean Pierre Stelly.

Do you have copies of the census?

Good luck and Happy Ancestor Hunting
