Subject: [Phly-Rts] Maria Barbara KILMER 1870's...

Folks,
Well, the obituary for John George DOERR seems to list
the wife as Barbara KLMER.
Now that spelling looks like the image, but admittedly, it
would seem to have to have something wrong with it.
Yet, the letters do seem to be correct!
So I am guessing her name was actually Maria Barbara
KILMER, and her emigration took place, according to one
census, in 1873. Now her husband's emigration took
place in 1870. So she would have been single. Hey!
The kids were born after 1873. So it looks like she got
married very soon after arrival. Maybe she knew her
prospective husband well ahead of time. But maybe
it was just a whirlwind courtship.
If the latter, likely she would not have come alone, though,
of course, it is possible.
But I'm banking on the likelihood she came with family,
and that, thus, KILMERs were in Philadelphia in 1880.
Does anyone cross-connect to this name?
Thanks,
Vince Summers
