I am a new member to this list.

Joseph Henry Rohlmann (my greatgrandfather) (b. 1845, Lippstadt Germany)
married Mary Frances Hardieck (b. 1846, Lippstadt Germany) on 8 Jun 1871
in Philadelphia at St. Boniface (Catholic) Church at 174 W. Diamond St.

Mary Hardieck immigrated 1868/69 according to census records. Joseph
Henry Rohlmann immigrated probably about 1862 per a family report.

I know this couple had (at least) five children, the first two of which
were born in Philadelphia: Joseph John Gerald (b. 19 Jun 1872) and
Francis Xavier (b. 23 Jul 1874) per the previous cited family report.
Subsequent children were born in Missouri, the first of which in Mar 1877.

Joseph Henry had three brothers who immigrated with their mother Anna
Marie (nee Niehaus) one of which was Henry Joseph.

The witnesses for the Rohlmann/Hardieck marriage were Henry Rollman
(sic) & Josephine Nielaus (sic) per a transcription of the marriage
provided by the Philadelphia Archdiocese. The former I assume to be
Joseph's brother. The latter I assume to be related to Joseph Henry's
mother Ann Marie Niehaus, but I have no information on her family beyond
the name.

I have been unsuccessful verifying immigration dates for Anna Marie
(Niehaus) Rohlmann and her sons. I am leaving this week on a vacation
that will take me to Philadelphia among other places. I would like to
investigate these ancestors. My questions are about the availability of
Philadelphia civil and Archdiocesan records. Specifically:
*** Are there Philadelphia City Directory records available for the
years 1860 through 1877 (at least)? If so, where can they be accessed?
*** I saw online that a St. Boniface was being closed or merged earlier
this year with another parish. Is that the St. Boniface at 174 W.
Diamond St.? In either case, where can the records from the St. Boniface
that is/was at 174 W. Diamond St. be accessed?
*** Where can civil records of births for the time from 1871 through at
least 1877 be accessed?

I am particularly interested in finding out how Josphine Nielaus
(assumed to be Niehaus) is related since I believe that information
could lead to a new line of inquiry.

TIA for any guidance.
