In your immigrant's case, Engle's reference is to Strassburger &
Hinke's "Pennsylvania German Pioneers," comprised of 3 volumes of
passenger ships' lists of mostly-Germans arriving in Phila.
1727-1808. Johann Ulrich Ammer, his wife and six children (his
wife's and children's names are not given) arrived in Phila. on board
the brig Friendship, Nathan Clarke master/captain, from Amsterdam, on
17 Nov 1795. There were a total of 67 passengers on the voyage.
That's all the information there is on the ship's list.
