Hi Gerre
Maybe you already know but the 1870 census didn't list people's
actual address. The 3461 Chestnut St address was for the nearest
post office address, so it covered many square blocks.
On an 1880s map, I see that Blockley Almshouse was located
between 33rd and 38th St, below Spruce, so this area may have
had the nearest post office at 3461 Chestnut. If you check all the
names before your Susan Engard you will see that a whole list of
males are listed also. Maybe your Susan was in the almshouse ??

Can someone else on the list verify or deny ??

Listed along with many other females. Was this a hotel, boarding house,

And does anyone know who she had married?
