I am trying to locate any information on either the following families found
on the 1880 census enumerated in Philadelphia.

My grandfather is Charles Andrew Dorr born 1897 in Philadelphia to John Dorr
born according to the 1900 census in April 1851, in Germany, and Margaret
Schuhman b Aug 1868,in Germany. According to the 1900 census John immigrated in
1868. John's occupation is listed as Dyer on the 1900 census also.
I realize that the census lists the children as being born in PA but the only
other family I came across that fits John's age so far has not helped me
possitively either. It has this John occupation as dyer too. The age is not far
enough off to worry about. I have found that John must have died between 1900
and 1906 when is wife Margaret remarried Henry L Schmidt.
