Subject: [PHLY-RTS] Unknown Marking on Census
Date: Sun, 13 Jul 2003 18:46:25 -0400
Would SKS please help me by explaining what this mark means on the 1910
Federal Census when it appears next to the word " Head". The mark looks
like this "Head---OT". I appreciate some of the responses that have
indicated that this appears in "_____" Sections of the Federal census. But,
I am still confused by the specific marking " Head----OT".
I also appreciate receiving the list of other possibilities sent but none of
them had this reference to the Head of the Household on it, so it didn't
answer my questions.
My own guess is that the marking " Head---OT" may mean that the person who
has the designation of "Head" in the 1910 such as my great grand mother of
" Head----OT", may have a symbol for a situation where the true head of the
household in this case my great father is ---Off Traveling (Head---OT).
This is a wild guess. Any thing based in fact would be great!
Thanks,
Joe Moore
