Greetings from Maine-
I am new to this list and somewhat new to colonial Philadelphia research.
What is the experience from those of you who have used the printed church
records from the 1700s from Christ Church, St. Paul's, the 2nd Presbyterian
and St.Michaels and Zion's Lutheran? If I check the originals on the LDS
microfilm might there be some more information and might I find some entries
left out of the printed versions? I am missing some birth, marriage and
death records....some of the different families' records are found just not
all of them. Such as I cannot find a death record for PATIENCE JACKSON
GREENWAY, wife of WM GREENWAY(they married at Christ Church in Oct 1739 but
he remarried in 1789 to REBECCA BETTERTON. Also I cannot find Wm and
Patience's daughter ELIZABETH's birth record (might be at St. Paul's)
although I find her marriage record from 1782 in Christ Church. Then I
can't find the marriage record of their son JOSEPH GREENWAY and REBECCA
HARPER sometime around 1780. Rebecca was the dau of JOHN HARPER and wife
SARAH WELLS....most of their records are found in the 2nd Presbyterian
Church but I can't find anything dealing with Rebecca.

Do anyone know if there is a listing of those buried in the Christ Church
burial ground and old St. Paul's cemetery? Plus was the St. Paul's cemetery
actually bigger than what is there now?

Also does anyone know if there are any maps showing 18th C wharves and their
names?

I am trying to get a handle on all the GREENWAYS found in the 18th C records
and have yet to separate into the right pews all the Josephs, Roberts,
Johns, Williams, Sarahs, and Hannahs.

Thanks,
Pam Eagleson
