I am new to the list and the messages I have read seem more recent and related to the city than I am searching but I hope someone can help me.

I am looking for information about the family listed in the 1800 census Philadelphia Co. Penn as "Jos. Shride - male two 45 yr. and up; 3 females 6 to under 15; 1 female 45 and up." Just verification that someone of the name(s) left information there for that period would be encouraging. A relative would be wonderful.

I am looking for the ancestors of Jacob Shride born 1796 in PA. Everyone I have found living now with that spelling traces back to Jacob. The search has given me a number of leads and possibilities but no definite connection. I have several names tied to the Shride spelling -- Schreidt; Schried; Schreid; Shreid.

Any help will be sincerely appreciated.
