Lani and List,

Vol IX of the Pennsylvania Archives Series, "Pennsylvania Marriages Prior to 1810"
lists early marriages in the Moravian Churches of Philadelphia, Bethlehem, Nazareth,
Litiz, and Emaus.

Original records for the marriages are located at the Moravian Archives in Bethlehem.
When I spoke with them (about two years ago) they did not allow photocopies and
cautioned that many of the earliest records were in German. They also advised making
an appointment.

They have a website with contact information at: http://www.moravianmuseum.org/

I was hoping to learn more of the marriage of John MAYBIN to Ann J. Peter, July 7,
1790 at the Philadelphia Moravian Church -- but since I'm stranded in (soggy)
California, and the research will have to be done in person, it's on the "Someday"
list.

For Lani: Below you'll find a listing of the marriages for surnames beginning with
"L" at the
Philadelphia Moravian Church:
1794, Nov 4 Lattimer, Geddes, and Sarah Bartow
1779, May 8 Lawersweiler, Jacob, and Elizabeth Peter
1749, May 3 Leibert, Barbara, and Christian Fenstermacher
1793, Jan 10 Little, Susanna, and Joseph Worrell

Hope this is helpful,

Susie
