Hi
'My' George's son William went to college and trained as a school master, at Llanhasty College, He then took up a post at an Oxford school, marrying Matilda Elizabeth Pinnigar Hall, 1854, from Oxford. When Matilda died he married a welsh tutor-pupil of his, Jane Bargwanna, her father came from Cornwall, I have all William's children, John Pinnigar Phillips was my Gt Grandfather, again a school headmaster, who ended up in Worcestershire, and married his housekeeper when Kate Sherwood died, anyway he died shortly after he married Lucy Champion!
Hope this helps, also my tree is on Ancestry.co.uk
Regards Anne

I find this interesting. My Phillips were also shoemakers. The
earliest one that I have found is Thomas Phillips b ca 1690, married
in Redruth, Cornwall in 1715. All the way up to the 1850s all the men
were shoe makers. My branch emigrated to Swansea and then to NYC and
were shoemakers in the USA also. It would not surprise me, if we
could go further back with each of our branches, that we would find
them connected.
