Ruth Wilson was married Joseph Stokes (1807-1853) and I believe that she is
the daughter of James Wilson and Mary Bunting. Ruth's last child was born in
1847. There were 7 children: William, Sarah Ann m. George W Boyd, Margaret,
John m. Sarah Ann Wolf, Mary A, Ruth and Joseph.
Joseph remarried before 1850 to Elizabeth Scott, widow of Charles Wolf and
they have a daughter Eliza Jane who is 8 months old in the 1850 census.
The James Wilson I speak of died by drowning in 1837 and is the father of
William Wilson who married Mary E Ayers in 1854.
William Wilson is guardian of Ruth's children after the death of Joseph
Stokes in 1853.
William is also the Census taker for Lower Chanceford Twp. in 1860.
Sarah E, daughter of John Stokes and Sarah Ann Wolf married James Martin
Wilson, Grandson of William Wilson and Mary Ayers. Marriages of John and
Sarah other children were Margaret E m. James Main, Ruth A m. Jacob Skill,
Jennie A m. Veazey Chandlee.
