I would also be interested in your Pattersons, although I have't spent a
great deal of time on them I have always believed I should deal with one
family at a time but your message could not be erased.

I have a Thomson Family genealogy table prepared by John James Elder born

at Ashgrove. Castlefin, County Donegal, November 5, 1859. He died in
Toronto,Ontario. I don't know when. His father, Andrew married a
Thomson. of Moyle, Co. Donegal.

I am a Patterson, presently of Ottawa, Ontario, whose GG grandfather,
John Patterson, of Rubbleshinney, Milford, Donegal (b. Oct. 10, 1814)
married another Thomson sister. I can account for the Pattersons of this
marriage.

John was the son of William Patterson. He married Sarah Jane Gallagher.

That is as far as I can go with my Pattersons, right now. The Elders and
Pattersons in this case are cousins.

The author of this genealogy identifies his Elder family as being
descended from Robert Elder of Stirlingshire who settled at Burnfoot,
Ireland before 1700.

Is this of interest to anyone? Would love to hear from you.

Catherine
