Help...... I have one birth certificate for my husbands father and it says, E.L. Pannell JR, he grew up believing his name was Benjamin Franklin Pannell, he was born 13 April 1923 in Smackover, AR. It shows his father as being E.L. Pannell Sr born in Perryville, MO about 1894, everyone believed the E.L. stood for Edgar Lee. It shows his mother as being Emmie Simpson born in Saint Louis, MO around 1888. The birth certificate also shows that this was the seventh child. I believe the children by this marriage was E.L. Pannell Jr (Ben) and Edgar Lee Pannell Jr. (Bud), by a previous marriage of Emmie Simpson there was Norie, Mytle, Nettie, and Roxie. So, I am missing one of the children. I also believe that Simpson was an earlier married name for Emmie instead of a maiden name. I also know that Emmie Simpson died within 2 or 3 years of Ben's (E.L. Jr.) birth and that the father abandoned the children. I believe that the father died before 1969 in or around Bakersville, CA. I am a!
