Fellow US listers...there are many free sources of genealogical info--such
as local libraries, historical societies, and genealogical societies--some
of which have on-line query capabilities, and most of which will have
references on the population of the early US (1600's and 1700's). The point
is that we "rooters" are inclined to help each other, but it's only fair
that we all do our homework before asking for research assistance. If such
local research sources don't pan out, then ask for help. I'm not trying to
anger anyone, but my experience has been that once I answer someone's plea
for help, I got deluged w/other requests...and sometimes I know that if I
can find possible answers using my meager reference library, some requesters
probably haven't checked local sources first.

Please forgive me for preaching/acting like at know-it-all...but if the shoe
fits...

Janet, having said that, here's what Humphrey's books for PA Births, Berks
County, 1710-1800, show for George/Georg and/or Catharina/Catharine Schall
(other Schall's are also listed--but I don't feel like typing names that
don't seem to meet your requirements):

Anna Maria Schall; b. 12 Aug 1766; Georg and Catharina; Oley
Reformed Church, Oley Twp.

Cath. Elisabetha Schall; b. 4 Mar 1764; George and "Not Given"; Oley
Reformed Church

Jacob Schall; b. 29 Aug 1779; George and Catharine; St. Joseph's
Lutheran and Reformed Church

Magdalena Schall; b. 4 May 1760; George and Catharina; St. Joseph's
L & R Church

Maria Margaretha Schall; b. 24 Feb 1762; George and Catharina; St.
Joseph's L&R Church

Catharine Schall; b. 16 May 1799; George and Catharine; St. Joseph's
L & R Church

David Schall; b. 19 June 1790; Georg Jr. and "Not Given"; Oley
Reformed Church

George Schall; b. 1 Jul 1792; George and Catharine; St. Joseph's L &
R Church

Hanna Schall; b. 23 Mar 1797; George and Catharine; St. Joseph's L &
R Church

Johannes Schall; b. 24 Jul 1794; Georg and "Not Given" Oley Reformed
Church

Janet...two notes...first, I think I transcribed accurately, but don't take
that for gospel until you've confirmed it for yourself...second Oley and
Pike Twps. are adjacent, so these people, if not the same, are probably
related.

PS Your problem may be that the daughters you're trying to figure out come
from different generations...also, I'm doing legwork here, you'll have to
figure out what it means for yourself (I've got more than I can handle w/my
folks). My apologies if my remarks seem abrasive.

That is the correct church. I need the births/baptisms of Elizabeth
Schall,
dau. of George Schall and Catharina Neuhardt and her sister or possibly the

same person, Catharina Elizabeth Schall.

Thank you,

Janet

Janet...if you're referring to St. Joseph's Reformed and Lutheran Church,
Pike Township, I have books by John T. Humphrey on PA Births/Baptisms
(1710-1800) that includes that church...what name(s) are you looking for?

Hi Maggie,

I am sorry, I should have put Berks County in my request. Must have been
another one of those senior moments. :-) But thanks for your offer!

Warren Ziegler, John T. Humphry and Fredrick Paul & Jeffry Howell have
all

published books of Berks County births/baptisms.

Hi Janet,
What County is Hill Reformed Church located in? I have a book that lists
births and some baptisms for Bucks County....if your church is in Bucks, I

might be able to help you out. (Might not be right away though, b/c I
just
moved
and my genealogy materials are packed still!)

If anyone has the book with Hill (St. Joseph) Reformed Church Baptisms
for

the 1700's, could you please look up two baptisms for me. I need to find

the
correct dates of the baptisms and/or births.

Thank you,

Janet
