Actually, it still is---at least the buildings if not the "solitaries".
I was there last spring. I'd really love to get a group together of
those researching the Nunnery families and try to combine our info.
Along with the Snowbergers who donated the land and whose members were
very well represented in the congregation, Monns, Sechrists, Kneppers,
Burgers, Reeds, Dulls, Rocks, and many other families whose members
spread west to evangelize and start new settlements all were involved in
what's considered one of the leading "Utopian experiments" in our
country's history. The more I learn about this Franklin County
offspring of the Ephrata Cloister, the more I realize how significant it
was.

Cloister that was located on Nunnery Hill outside of Quincy
