Has anybody heard of the following Padgett families?

Lawrence and Mary Hogans Padgett had at least one son:

Jasper Lawson "Jeff" Padgett (April 1859, ? - Nov 1932, Anderson, SC) m. Matilda Spearman (Oct 1867 - June 1932).

Jeff and Tilde are my gggrandparents, but can't get any further back. Lawrence was supposed to have been killed or missing in the Civil War. I can't find them in SC census records.

There are children from another family who may be LAwrence and Mary's grandchildren by another child. They are as follows:

Wylie Aaron b. 19 Aug 1885 d. 17 Sep 1887?
Julia? (dates unknown and name not written clearly on old paper)
John W. b. 6 August 1886
Rose (Aley?) b. 13 July 1888

There may be other children. I need information on MAry and Lawrence, who may have been from SC as well as the children/family listed above -- who were their parents, where did they live, etc.) Any clues would be greatly appreciated as this is as far as I have been able to go in 6 years. Hoping to find a cousin.
