Subject: [PACE-L] Pace book on Ebay
Date: Thu, 19 Sep 2002 00:16:38 EDT

I received the message below from Ken Daniel ()
regarding a possibly rare book about Pace genealogy which is up for bids on
Ebay until 9/22.
Does anyone know if this book is available in public libraries and therefore
by interlibrary loan? ( I am not familiar with the Avant book).

Gordon W. Pace

Gordon,

Glad to hear your virus attack didn't do any real damage. Your loss would be
a loss for all since you help so many.

Thought you might be interested in the eBay listing below (ending Sep-22-02
11:39:27 PDT) if you don't already have a copy. You're probably familiar with
Avant's book. I've only seen it one other time.

Ken Daniell

Some Southern Colonial Families Volume Two by David A. Avant Jr. c. 1982, as
new
hardcover, 467, indexed with additional slave index

The author, along with other leading genealogies, contributed to 5 volumes of
work by this author. Each volume deals with different families. Although the
title does specify southern, this could be considered in a broad sense since
some will have migrated from northern states (if not England, Scotland,
Germany or ?). You will find families from Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia,
South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Alabama, Ohio,Maryland and more.

The main families in this volume (some surnames are featured in more than one
volume):

Newsome of Virginia, South Carolina & GA along with Spencer & Sheppard
Families
Pace of England, Virginia, North & South Carolina & GA with Maycocke Family
Excursus (and Woodlief Excursus)
