The first son, Solomon PACE, could very well be an indicator of who Kitty
Walls's parents were. You may know of Soloman WALL (most people call him
Solomon WALL, though) who was born 1782 in North Carolina (I believe in
either Wake County or in Montgomery County) and died 1863 in Randolph
Co., NC. leaving a will. This will only mentioned his living children,
though.
A James WALL did buy 30 acres of land in Randoph Co., NC. I have
attached my notes on this James Wall.
My records (deeds of Randolph Co., NC) show that in 1805 Jeremiah ELLIOTT
granted James WALL 30 acres on Polecat Creek and that James WALL deeded
30 acres to Zachariah LINDLEY in 1819 in Randolph Co., NC. However, this
1819 deed was not recorded until between 1859-1862!
James Wall, on September 20, 1805, bought 30 acres from Jeremiah Elliott
of Randolph Co., NC for 35 Spanish Mild Dollars (Spanish Milled dollars)
adjoining Isaac Julian's, and a Mr. Penington's properties. This land was
on the
waters of Pole Cat Creek, which is very close to my Vickery families who
lived
in this area. Jeremiah Elliott signed this deed by mark and it was
witnessed by
Zachariah Lindley and Shubal York. This deed was recorded on March 28,
1861. On
February 27, 1819, Isaac Lane, Esquire, Sheriff for Randolph Co., NC, on
court
order in favor of Jeremiah Elliott against James Wall for the sum of
thirty five
dollars with the cost of suit which said sum was recovered by Jeremiah
Elliott
against James Wall on record of said Court may appear, said execution
directed
and delivered to said Isaac Lane Esquire, Sheriff, who then seized and
take into
his hands (no goods or chattel to be found) a certain parcel of
land...".beginning at a post oak Isaac Julin Corner, thence runs North
fifteen
chains to a white oak, thence East ten chanins to a white oak Penington
Corner,
thence north twenty eight & a half to a Black gum, thence East three and
a half
chains to a back oak, thence south forty three and a half chains to a
black oak,
thence west to the beginning Containing thirty acres...." Signed, Isaac
Lane
Sheriff and witnessed by Daniel Brower and Jeremiah Moser. This deed was
recorded March 28th, 1861. B. F. Hoover, CCC.
I wonder who this James Wall was?? Perhaps, the fact that his deed was
not recorded til so late, was because it was laying around someone's
home, and when the time came to pass it on to heirs, they found they
needed to record it? It is interesting that Soloman WALL died just after
this James Wall deed was recorded.
