George and Mabel:
Thanks for the additional info. After reviewing this info, my database and
some census records it is obvious that my previous suggestion of George
Spencer Pace, Sr.'s ancestry was incorrect.
The following is what I believe is the correct ancestry, beginning with the
third generation from Richard Pace of Jamestown.
3. Richard Pace II b. 1637 m. Mary Baker
4. James Pace b. 1666 m. Elizabeth Lowe
5. George Pace b. abt 1685 Charles City Co, VA, d. 1743 Edgecombe Co, NC, m.
Obedience. They had 5 kids.
6. James Pace b. 1727 Prince George Co, VA., m. unknown, m. 1742, children:
James and Spencer.
7. James Pace b. 1762 d. 1815 m. 1st Sarah Knight m. abt 1780
8. David Pace b. 1782 NC, d. 8/1859 m. Kitty Wall b. 1783 NC, m. 3/7/1810
Wake Co, NC. (On 1830 Wake Co, NC census).
9. George Washington Pace b. 1825 Wake Co, NC, d. abt 1905 m. Caroline
Blocker.
10. William Blocker Pace b. 1855 Olive Branch, Desoto Co, MS
11. George Spencer Pace, Sr. b. abt 1880
I found George (Washington) Pace on the 1880 census of Desoto Co, MS, Olive
Branch Twp.. He was 55 and married to Emma age 43 b. TN. (Was this a
nickname for Caroline or a 2nd wife?)
Children were: Willie age 25 b. TN (this must be William Blocker Pace),
Jessie 18 b. MS, Lonnie 15 b. MS, Anna J. 12, b. MS, Hattie B. 8 b. MS.
I was wondering when this family arrived in Mammoth Springs Arkansas.
Gordon W. Pace
