Thanks for the information about the children of Jesse Pace, Jr. and
Catharine Pace of Fluvanna Co, VA. This is a big revelation.
This is obviously the Catharine Pace who is head of household on the 1850
census of Fluvanna Co, VA. Per the census and your information their known
children were:
Joseph W. b. unknown, Mary b. 1818, Rebecca S. b. 1822, Jesse F. b. 1825,
William J. M. b. abt 1826, John C. b. abt 1829, and Elizabeth H. b. 1830.
You said that the son Joseph W. Pace m. Catharine Maddox. My question is
when was this Joseph W. Pace born and is he the Joseph Pace on the 1850
Fluvanna Co. census who is living next to his mother Catherine Pace. The
Joseph on the census is age 43, b. 1806-7, wife Catharine is 27, son
Archelaus is 4 and daughter Jane is 2.
If so, then Joseph W. was born about a year after Jesse and Catharine were
married but there is a 10 year gap before the next known child was born.
(The 1810 census showed that Jesse had only one child then, a young son.)
The 1820 to 1840 Fluvanna Co censuses should indicate whether there were
additional unidentified children.
