Betty:
I think you could be wrong about Noah and Madison Pace being sons of
Cassandra Dean, rather than Zilpha (Hall) Pace. Noah is age 52 (b. 1828) on
1880 census of Wake Co, NC, Little River Twp, mulatto, and Madison Pace is
age 50 (b. 1830) on 1880 census of Johnston Co, NC, Oneal Twp, mulatto.
Alsey and Cassandra didn't marry until 3/6/1836. But this supports the idea
that Alsey left Zilpha and married Cassandra as Noah and Madison were living
with them in 1860. Also the David Pace you show as son of Cassandra (who m.
Leuezar) is living near Madison on the 1880 Johnston Co census and is age 45
(b. 1834-35) so he could not be a son of Cassandra either.
I noticed that Cassandra is listed as 35 on the 1860 census and 60 on the
1870 census. Wow, what a descrepancy!. She is age 70 on the 1880 census,
living near Madison and David, so the 1810 birth year appears to be more
likely. Alsey is listed as Alcy, age 90 on that census. Alcy and Cassandra
are both listed as mulatto.
You didn't answer my question about Zilpha on the 1830 and 1840 census. Do
you have the details for children from those censuses?
