Haven't seen any feedback on my comment that my Edmond Pace of Lee Co VA
signed his will in 1885 and did not die in 1855 as was stated recently.
Several years ago I posted a copy of his will--probably somewhere on the
Pace site--which he "talked" in the presence of neighbors and was
actually written by his grandson Absolem Pace in 1885. It was filed for
probate a few months later. Also, the birth date suggested for him
would have been before the third marriage of Stephen Pace to Lucy
Walker, as they married in March 1799. In Bruce Howard's book listing
all the Pace names in the 1850 census, he shows in Claiborne Co TN my
Edmond Pace--(spelled clearly with an "o") and his age as 45--which
would put him born about 1804/1805. His age in the 1880 census--the
last he appears in, is shown as 75, which would be consistent with an
estimated birth date of 1804/1805.
Any comments?
Marian
