Jim Pace,
We've just gotten back from Houston and I found a lot of stuff. I found
nothing on a P. McGoldrick or on the father of Eliz., Wm., Eugene or Ed
McGoldrick, but I did find their mother and grandmother. I don't know how
much of this stuff you already have so I am going to give it all to you but
in multiple e-mails. I wish I knew what your friend, Carolyn, had on a P.
McGoldrick.
Anyway - In the 1880 census for Mississippi (City of Natchez, Adams Co.,
MS, - on Broadway Street) is an ANN E. WHITE age 56 (born in MS) listed as
the head of the household. Living with her is a daughter, MARGARET WHITE,
19 years of age, born is MS. Also living there is another daughter, MARTHA
MCGOLDRICK, 34 years old, born in LA, and the column for single is marked &
the column for widowed or divorced is also marked. Also living there in the
household of this ANN E. WHITE is : LIZIZA (sic), MCGOLDRICK 13 yrs old,
GRAND DAUGHTER; WM. MCGOLDRICK 12 yrs. old, GRANDSON; ED MCGOLDRICK 9 yrs
old, GRANDSON; EUGENE MCGOLDRICK 7 yrs. old, GRANDSON. Children all born
is MS. Now this is strange - I don't think that White is the maiden name of
MARTHA MCGOLDRICK because her father's birthplace is listed as SC. MARGARET
WHITE'S father's birth place is listed as KY. So they may be half sisters.
The children's father (MCGOLDRICK) was born in IRELAND. Both of ANN WHITE'S
daughters and the older grandchildren worked in a Cotton Mill. Please let
me know if you had any of this information? The next e-mail will be their
TEXAS DEATH CERTIFICATE numbers and dates of death. You can order these
from the state of TX for a nominal fee and on their death certificates their
father's name and mother's maiden name should be listed. I also found them
is Dallas City Directories. I'll send all of this to you. Jim this bounced
back to me, so send me a message and let me know your correct address.
