ABSTRACTS OF PHILADELPHIA CNTY WILLS by F Edward Wright, p. 125
SMITH, FRANCIS. Kennet, Chester Cnty. Gentleman.
April 26, 1710. May 20, 1711. C. 238
Other children Francis, Sarah, Jane and Ann EYRE widow. Granddaughter Anne
REESE, John MARTIN of Chester Creek, yeoman.
Executors: Daughter Alice wife of William VANDERVERE and friend Jasper YEATES
Witnesses: George CHANDLER, Walter MARTIN and William CHANDLER.

Searching for information on the above Anne REESE.

There was a John REES in 1711 Red Clay Creek Hundred, New Castle cnty, DE
who owned Crane Hook Island and some land at Crane Hook bounded by Kings
Hook Road and the Delaware river with William VANDERVERE, innholder. John
REES survived William VANDEVERE and sold the land to Samuel KIRK. Samuel
KIRK was the second husband of the widowed Alice (nee Smith) VANDEVERE
KIRK. Alice died w/o issue.
The land in question could have been the land on which William VANDEVERE's
inn was situated. There was a John REES and a John REECE who was/were
present at the delivery of a lot of deeds during this period as might not
be surprising for someone managing an inn.
However, so far I've found no information on Francis SMITH's daughter,
Jane, and it may be that she married a REES or that she had a daughter,
Anne, who md: a REES.
Is anyone descended from a REES/SMITH marriage in the Chester county,
PA/New Castle cnty, DE area in the early 1700's who might be able to help
me out with this puzzle?
