Hi Connie!

I guess it could be the same guy then? Although would a tanner run a mill?
I've been guessing anyways that Gideon A.J.'s date of immigration from
Germany must be off as he didn't seem to know as much about his grandfather
as Martin did.

I've also got a biography of Martin, as a scan from the book, *A portrait
and biographical record of Madison and Hamilton counties, Indiana,* I
haven't typed it out yet though, and the list doesn't accept
attachements--so I've stuck it up online at:
http://obershimer.googlepages.com/567.jpg,
http://obershimer.googlepages.com/568.jpg The bio of my Gideon that I have
already seems to be many places on the internet.

I don't know when the notes are from, we don't have the original handwritten
stuff from either Martin or my Gideon, just a printed copy passed down at
least from my great-grandma. I have a Obit for my Gideon from the L.A.
Times, 10 Sept. 1898 so it must have been from before then. Both apparently
would both of been writing about their grandfather.

Has anybody looked to see if the immigrant Peter's gravestone can be found
in Augusta County? They didn't have death records that late I don't think.
Also, has anybody gone over to Frankfort to see if the line can be traced
back even further? Another German family in my line I've traced apparently
have records back till 1200 at the local church.

Also, does anybody have scans of any original documents? Like the marriage
record for instance, or birth records, or newspaper clippings, etc..? I'm
the kind of person that really loves that kind of thing :)
