LEBANON EXPRESS, October 26, 1894
DEATH OF MRS. COX
Adelia Honeywood Brooks was born in Ohio, August 16, 1834. She moved
to Illinois in early childhood where she married William Cox, of Brooklyn
Ill., June 28, 1850. She, with her husband and family, emigrated to
Nebraska in an early day, where she united with the M. E. church; and she
has ever since lived a consistent christian life. On New Years night, 1886
God called her husband home. April 17, 1894, she came to Oregon to visit
her children. Oct. 19, 1894, she went across the river to join her loved
ones on the other shore. This dear Mother in Israel leaves to mourn her
loss, nine children, thirty-two grandchildren, three great grand
children, and two brothers. Also many friends.
I wasn't able to locate a cemetery where she is buried. There are a lot of
Cox's in the area. I checked the 1892 Linn County Tax List and found 2.
Oscar Cox and F. T. Cox.
Hope this helps. Lebanon Genealogical Society volunteer
