Mrs. Eleanor Morris, Scio, dies Aug.23
Mrs. Eleanor Morris of Scio passed away at 10:10 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23,
1961, at her home on North Main Street, after a long illness. Funeral
services were held at Weddle Funeral Home in Stayton, Sunday afternoon, with
Ken Hooten, pastor of Scio Christian Church, officiating.
Private committal by cremation at Mt. Crest Abbey in Salem followed.
Eleanor Parrish, daughter of the pioneers for whom Parrish Gap was
named, had spent her life in this area. Her late husband, Roll Morris,
preceded her in death in Scio several years ago. There were no children.
Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Lois Labrecque of Seaside, Ore., and one
brother, Gayle Parrish of Kelso, Wash., also five nieces.
