Roland Daniel Mitchell


Roland Daniel Mitchell, 90, of Lincoln City, Ore., died March 8, 2011.

He was born May 14, 1920 in Laveen, Ariz. to Joseph Powell Mitchell and Ida Williamson. He completed high school and attended some college. He served in the U.S. Army from May 8, 1942 to Jan. 13, 1946. Roland married Uretta Jane Karicofe on Oct. 31, 1946. Last Halloween, they were married for 64 years.

He was preceded in death by his son, Curtis Roland Mitchell; and grandsons, Ronald Dean King Jr. and Clint Mitchell Bryant.

He is survived by his wife, Uretta Mitchell; son, Ronald (Judy) Dean Mitchell of Walker, Ariz.; daughter, Roletta (John Good) Irene Fowler of Tidewater, Ore.; granddaughters, Tuesday (Vince) Ann Spagnuolo of Oxnard, Calif. and Trinity Lachelle Mitchelle of Florida; grandson, Christopher (Sara) Ryan Bryant; great-grandson, Jacob Brock King of Port Angeles; and great-granddaughter, Alexis, of Albany.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 19, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3565 W. Devils Lake Road in Lincoln City.

Affordable Burial and Cremation is handling arrangements.
