BETTY EADS
Betty Eads, 77, of Newport died of heart related causes May 14, 2005. She was born Feb. 8, 1928 in Daisy, Ark.
She moved to Medford with her family in 1947, and married Joe Robertson in 1949. She was employed by Safeway as a cashier. In 1965, she moved to Albany and married her second husband Jim Bayne in 1964. They were business partners in Bayne and Bayne Transmission Specialists and later moved to Newport to open another transmission shop. He preceded her in death in 1984.
In 1986, she married Robert Eads in Salem, and they lived in Corvallis until his death in 1992, and she moved back to Newport.
She was a member of the Salvation Army Church. She enjoyed gardening, dancing, fishing and spending time with her grandchildren and her church.
She is preceded in death by her three husbands; parents, Dewey Cook and Leona Lindsay Cook; brothers, Thomas James Cook, Kermal "Bud" Cook, and Billy Ray Huffman; and sister, Ina Mae Jarman.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Curt and Rayne Robertson of Eddyville; sister Wanda Stovall of Apple Valley, Calif.; brother Herman Lee Huffman of Medford; four grandsons, Ron Robertson, Jason Robertson, Robert Robertson, and George Blacketer; former daughter-in-law, Lorna Robertson; one great-grandson and another great-grandchild due in August; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, May 23 at the Salvation Army Church in Newport. A potluck luncheon will follow immediately after the services.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Salvation Army Church in Newport. Bateman Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
