seems to me there was some question here about taverns
and Quakers ...

while it isn't exactly Original-13 nor Germantown,
my ancestor Enos Eldridge, who definitely WAS a Quaker,
owned a tavern called "Death of the Fox"
in Philadelphia

(for more of the story, consult Google; I found the story
by searching and was startled, to say the least)

be sure to keep an open mind; what may be commonly accepted
TODAY about our ancestors, needs to be checked against
what actually WAS ...
