Blaney is the old name for Elgin. It is in Kershaw County.

The Elgin Watch Co. opened a factory many years ago and asked the town folk to
rename the town. After several years the company abandoned the town. I don't
know why in the world they didn't reclaim the Blaney name after that, but it
is still Elgin.
