I guess I've been fortunate. I emailed the county cemetery supervisor for a county cemetery where I knew (and or guessed) where a significant portion of one of my families was buried, some without headstones. She was fabulous! Within 2 weeks she sent me an extraction from the county records - I had a list of all cemeteries with family members in them; I had plot sizes and dates, and she even pulled me all birth records she had that might be related. Believe me, I made a donation to that county for cemetery maintenance and refurbishment.
